Cloud Studies by John Constable

Cloud study 1822, oil on paper,  7.8 x 12.6 inches

I found these wonderful oil sketches by John Constable while searching for great plein air paintings. This summer, I'm going to be painting landscapes outside, which I've never tried (although I've sketched outdoors before). I'm really looking forward to it.

  3. TV's Frank- Yes, I can not wait! I think it will be challenging but a lot of fun.
Valora- I'm so glad you're enjoying the posts! I find the initial work or idea from art books, magazines, and other art blogs. Then I spend tons of time researching the specific artwork or artist online- eventually stumbling across even more paintings that I like. :)
