Dawn

Oil on Masonite, 5x7 inches

I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful summer! Besides spending as much time as I can outside, I've been involved in some new creative projects. I hope to share the details of this with you soon.

Above is my latest oil painting titled Dawn. I hope it's one of my most expressive pieces. The inspiration for this painting was a room in an abandoned house. I imagined what the space would look and feel like if it were livable again.

  1. Leah: What a charming piece.........the space would be wonderfully creative if you were to inhabit it.

  5. Love the luminosity. So do you just sneak into these abandoned buildings, set up your easel, and have a go at it?

  6. Thank you. I really do enjoy sneaking into abandoned buildings. :) I usually bring a camera and take lots of photos, then later in the studio I try to merge that reference with my memory or 'feeling' of the place.

  7. Great Painting! Re: all previous comments plus riveting simplicity, tough to do. Based on Anthony's comment, hope to see your work in person some day (as well as the rest of your Ani Art site artists).
